This is a one-of-a-kind Peter Pots piece made by our long-time potter Janet Pinsonneault. It is wheel-thrown and glazed in the traditional Peter Pots Mahogany Brown glaze. The decoration is the sgraffito technique of scribing through the first white layer of glaze before the second layer of brown is applied. There is no date on this item, but the style of foliate decoration is in keeping with the work she was doing in the 1980s. Being wheel thrown, it is thicker and heavier than similar Peter Pots pieces, with a substantial rim, and signed in her hand JAN P POTS. Perfect condition, 8” diameter, 2.25 inches in height.
