The Cat Ashtray made its first appearance in 1959, and was not made after the early 1960s, making this one at least 60 years old. This example is in Mahogany Brown and has a rich, deep glaze color. There are no chips or losses, but on close examination there are some light scuffs on the rim and a hairline glaze crack across the neck of the cat. These are minor signs of age and use and it is still a nice example of a rare mid-century piece. We do not see these very often. 7” x 3 3/4”w x 1 1/4” deep.
